“I Am a Mama”

We love mothers — that means you. We honor your BIG mama hearts, your bravery, the joy you cultivate and the challenges you navigate. With each breath, hug, question, tear, or smile, your heart opens even wider as a mama than you ever imagined possible.

Blooma made this video — a tribute to motherhood — especially for you. A big thank you to filmmaker Melissa Koch for her beautiful work on this!

Mamas, Happy Mother’s Day month! We love and honor you year-round.

Love,

Alisa, Sarah & the women of Blooma

Words of wisdom

I love reading aloud from the Parent’s Tao Te Ching at the end of my BYOB (Bring Your Own Baby) yoga classes. It’s one of several really lovely books that many Blooma teachers turn to for inspiration. So I thought I’d share the following passage I recently ran across:

If you want to be a wise parent

you must be prepared to appear foolish.

You must be willing to say,

“Why should I chase this way and that, always grasping,

always running?

Nuts!”

Unless you stop following the crowd,

how can your children be free?

To teach your children strength

you must be willing to appear weak.

You must renounce ambition and struggle

and embrace serenity and peace.

You must confess your faults

and embrace your failures.

You must face yourself with honesty

and find the truth of your nature.

Ahhhh. And with that, a deep breath.

Love,
