THANKS + LOVE to Dads (+ Pics of You at Yoga!)

Thank you to dads of all kinds, possessing varying talents, battling different challenges, the dads who love, listen, and try their best.

Love to the dads-to-be, who wait for new life to unfold and who wonder how life, relationships, and work will change once he lays eyes on his sweet newborn for the first time.

Love to the dad who mastered middle-of-the-night swaddles. Love to the dad who brings mama water every time she sits down to nurse.

Love to the dads who hold tiny hands, gently wipe knee scrapes, kiss salty tears, give eskimo kisses, read bedtime stories, cheer “HOORAY!” and drive carpools.

Love to the dads who lose their tempers, then step back for a deep breath and an “I’m sorry.”

Love to the dads who raised us — fabulous and not-so-fabulous — for setting us on the path we’re on today.

Love to the men who have fathered us in ways other than blood-to-blood relationship, who folded us into their hearts to nurture and mentor us, who freely chose this role.

Love to the dads who are no longer with us, who we miss dearly, but who continue to live in our hearts and memories.

Love to the dads whose own childhoods were tough, but who strive every day to carve different, more intentional ways of fathering their own children.

Love to the dads who’ve lost a child, and whose hearts will never be the same.

Love to the dads who work to balance career and family life — knowing that the balance is always teetering and never easy.

May each of you know how valued and adored you are. Happy Father’s Day!

Dads, in what ways are you grateful for being a father? Mamas, in what ways would you like to praise your partner today?

Love,

Alisa, Sarah & the women of Blooma

P.S. – Enjoy these photos of dads who attended Blooma yoga classes for free all week!

Blooma’s “Pappy Hour” Brings Focus to Dads

While the focus is often on mom before and after baby’s arrival, new dads and dads-to-be also feel overwhelmed by the changes happening in their lives. Sometimes there isn’t a strong support network available just for dads.

Do you have questions about your little one? Want to gripe about the sleep you’re not getting? Just looking to get to know other dads who can relate?

Just in time for Father’s Day, join us at Blooma (Minneapolis/Edina location) for a free, special evening where dads can gather, talk candidly and share stories on Thursday, June 14 from 7:30-8:45 p.m.

Special guests include members of the Roe Family Singers and a Q&A with Margaret McKinley Owens and Charlie Owens, instructors of one of Blooma’s newest class offerings. The class provides an eye-opening view into the first few day and weeks of life with a newborn — and answers many of the questions dads never thought to ask.

The event is free to dads, and mamas and babies are welcome, too. For more information call 952-848-1111 or register online.

GIVEAWAYS will be happening through out the night! We will be giving away: massages, class passes and retail goodies! Your wife will love that you are “giving her” a massage on Father’s Day!

Love,

Alisa, Sarah & the women of Blooma

Free Yoga for Dads Father’s Day Week!

Whether your baby daddy has never done yoga or already schedules in his own mat time, you’ll want to pencil June 10-17 into his calendar. That’s when we invite all dads (whether your father or your child’s father) to celebrate Father’s Day with FREE yoga at Blooma!

Let the dad or dad-to-be in your life share in your prenatal yoga practice and show them how challenging Goddess squats are! Or bring a dad with you to a Vinyasa Flow, Bring Your Own Baby yoga or Take It Easy yoga. All dads welcome.

While classes are free to dad, we do ask that he reserve a spot online or by calling us at 952.848.1111. We can’t wait to celebrate the amazing men in your lives!

Love,

Alisa, Sarah & the women of Blooma
