The physical practice of yoga gets most of the love and attention here in the West. But Ayurveda, an ancient, holistic system of medicine that heals the physical body, is yoga’s sister science. When you’re pregnant or postpartum, Ayurveda can be the profoundly nourishing and healing gift your body is craving. (Even the Kardashians tried it!)
“The golden egg that Ayurveda has to share with mothers-to-be, as well as mothers who have just delivered and women in general, is to simplify, simplify, simplify,” says Tricia Sletten, Ayurvedic Practitioner & Educator, e-RYT, of Pure Land Ayurveda.
And which of us mamas couldn’t use a bit more simplification in our lives?
