Congratulations to new mama Teresa, who practiced prenatal yoga at Blooma’s St. Paul studio and took the power of those squats right into the birthing room with her!

Dear Corrine,
This message is long overdue, but I have been a little busy lately! My baby boy, Colin Thomas, was born on Sunday, June 3rd at 5:04 p.m.
He was a healthy 8 lbs, 2 oz and was nine days “early.”
My water broke at 3 a.m. at home and the pressure waves (contractions) slowly intensified over the morning. Transition went fast, I went from 4 cm to complete in half an hour! For pushing I used the squat bar, and at one point the nurse said, “You must be a yoga mama, only yoga mamas can stay in the squat position that long.”
My pushing stage lasted 3.5 hours, but my midwife said I had a lot of strength and stamina (which I attribute to yoga) and that is why she allowed me to go so long without intervening!
I just want to thank you as well as all the other wonderful St. Paul prenatal instructors for all the help, guidance and support these last 5 months. I am so thankful I discovered Blooma during my pregnancy. It inspired me to pursue a natural childbirth, which I am so happy to have achieved.
I cannot wait for BYOB! I miss being in the Blooma community and support it provides and can’t wait to come back! See you soon!
Teresa M.
